WPRC have been shooting as a club since 1982 and are one of
the most active of the Hertfordshire RA clubs. We currently have
16 full shooting members and despite our Hertfordshire affiliation,
our members are living in a wide catchment area spreading as
far afield as Staffordshire and even Yorkshire. Full bore target
rifle shooting, at distances from 300 to 1000 yards, is our sole
activity, which is carried out almost exclusively at Bisley.
| We have a full club programme running
from March through October, which is primarily designed
to meet club members needs and aspirations. Our main aim
is a relaxed and sociable yet competitive atmosphere, and
the active encouragement of those who strive to improve.

Activities are also tailored to allow members to take part
in County and other Bisley Club events. Five members have represented
the Club at County and National level and we aim to enter teams
in County and Imperial meeting competitions.
We currently use paid markers and when shooting
an average club day of five shoots, the cost including top
quality ammo is about £40. The Club has all the equipment necessary
to support its activities, including four top quality RPA 2000
rifles, hire of which is only £4.00 per day for those members
who do not have their own rifles. Club subscriptions work out
at £40.00 per annum plus an optional £5.00 block
entry fee to club competitions. (Non NRA members also are required
to pay a £5 annual Affiliation Fee).
To encourage interest, we charge a 'Green
Fee' of £8.00
a day to prospective members who are supervised during the shooting
day by an appointed experienced WPRC ‘sponsor’. Green
Fee attendance is limited to two appearances per season, which
can be credited against a full subscription paid on joining.
We hope our current shooting calendar, copy
enclosed, will encourage you to give us a call. Club committee
members will give you more detailed information on our activities
and will help you to arrange your ‘Green Fee’ day
if you wish.
