County Astor Cup Heat – April 26th 2026

The ASTOR is an NRA competition in which the chosen teams from every County compete at the Imperial Prize Meeting in July. Selection of those teams takes place in a series of County heats, and this year the Hertfordshire heat was held on Sunday 26^th April. with three clubs being able to shoot.

With fine weather promised, the course of fire was 2 sighters and 7 to count at 300, 500 and 600 yards.

With very light tricky winds, points were dropping like flies.  However, 500 and 600 yards were different stories for WPRC giving us a total of 597.42 and James Grenway leading the way with a gun score of 102.9 ex 105.

Our total of 597.42 was enough to get the job done, to see us through to our eleventh Astor Final.
