County Astor Cup Heat – May 13th 2012

We came into this event with high expectation and a strong team. It was encouraging to find six teams in the heat and we battled not only with our adversaries but also with very difficult wind conditions. Shooting at 300 yards was disappointing and we dropped 10 points. The wind was a determining factor at 500 and 600 with wind coaches Colin Skellett and Bob Jackson, both struggling to stay in touch. We finished in a tie on an aggregate of 596 but paid the penalty of a poor V count to hand the heat to Old B’s who deserved the win having carded two 104’s and a cross shot at 600.

They progressed to the Astor Final in July at the Imperial Meeting.
