HRA Captains Day and Teams Challenge Shield – Sunday 29th March 2026

HRA Captains Day and Teams Challenge Shield – Sunday 29th March 2026

This traditional opener to the Hertfordshire County shooting season was shot on a dry fine day.

The Captains Day prize Salver, is given to the competitor with the highest handicapped score, and a prize for the best gun score is also up for grabs.

This year the course of fire was revised to just two distances, 2 & 10 at 300 and 2 & 11 at 600 yards.

WPRC fielded 6 entrants out of a full field of 10 competitors. In this individual handicapped morning competition, Welwyn Phoenix had a good morning, with our relative newcomer Steven King scooping the silverware. With Andy Daw from North Herts Rifles in 2nd, and Nick Verduyn from WPRC in 3rd. Andy Daw completed the morning by winning the top gun score with 104.16 and won the bottle of Malt.
